Terms of Use

Last updated: 16 October 2026.

Who you are dealing with

walkintalk.com is run by Hertge VOF, a general partnership under Dutch law, President Kennedylaan 154, 2343 GV Oegstgeest, the Netherlands. Chamber of Commerce number 88251918, VAT number NL864554187B01. You can reach us at info@hertge.com. These terms are governed by Dutch law.

The service

walkintalk puts you in a group chat with the other people who have it open near you. It is free and needs no account. A chat of a place belongs to nobody: there is no owner or moderator in it, and messages are deleted after six hours. The service is provided "as is", without warranty. We may change or discontinue it at any time.

Age

walkintalk is for people of 16 and older. By entering a chat you confirm that you are.

What is not allowed

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You may not use walkintalk for unlawful purposes or to share illegal content, threats, harassment or hate speech, spam, malware, copyright infringement, or material that harms minors.

Because a chat here is about a place, one more rule matters: do not post where somebody else is - their home, where they are sitting, what they look like so they can be found - and do not use walkintalk to follow, find or meet up with somebody against their will. Be careful with where you are yourself, too.

Violations may result in message removal, removal from walkintalk and, where applicable, reporting to the relevant authorities.

Moderation and reporting

An automatic word filter and limits against flooding and spam apply in every chat. See something that does not belong? Press and hold the message (click it on a computer) and choose Report, or write to info@hertge.com. We look at every report within 24 hours. A message that breaks these rules is removed, and whoever wrote it is removed from walkintalk. You can also block somebody yourself at any time. The operator can read messages in order to deal with reports; our privacy statement explains exactly what is kept and for how long.

Liability

walkintalk is a chat service, not a storage service. We do our best to keep it running but cannot guarantee it is always available or that messages are never lost. We are not responsible for what other people write, or for meetings that follow from a chat. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under Dutch law.
